WHAT WE LOOK FOR DURING HOME WATCH VISITS
Inspect the exterior of the home.
Check all doors and windows; ensure they have not been tampered with and remain locked.
Look for any weather damage from wind, water, or fallen debris. Examine lanai and screened in enclosures for any damages.
Inspect for any signs of pest or insect infestations.
Check if lawn and landscaping work is being maintained and completed by landscaper (if applicable).
Inspect of any signs of mold starting on the outside of home.
Ensure no damage to air conditioning equipment and running properly.
Check for any leaks of outside plumbing, either from pool equipment, hose faucet, or irrigation.
Inspect the interior of the home.
All doors and windows are locked from the inside.
Check for any signs of pests or insect infestation inside the home.
Any rain or water damage to the ceilings, walls, and floors.
Any signs of mold and mildew.
Check plumbing for leaks, in kitchen, washrooms, and anywhere else it applies for each home.
Run all faucets for a couple minutes, flush toilets, and run garbage disposals so there is no still water in the pipes and nothing is seized from no use while homeowner is away.
Ensure air conditioning, thermostat, and humidistat are all in working order and accurate.
Record temperature and humidity readings.
Check appliances and ensure all are working properly and no leakage (refrigerator, freezer, dishwasher, washer, dryer).
Check breaker panel for any tripped switches and turn any back on that should be on.
Get mail from homeowners mailbox and leave inside the home, in specific location as requested by homeowner.
If requested, vehicles can examined; for any leaks or flat tires and can be started and moved, so flat spots do not develop on the tires.
